Jane E. “Janie Baby” Turner

Jane E. “Janie Baby” Turner, 77, of East Providence, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021, at the Hope Hospice Center in Providence.

She was the wife of Robert A. Turner, III.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies, she was a daughter of the late Newton L. and Elseta L. (Brewster) Mignott.

Mrs. Turner was a Certified Nurses Assistant for the Rhode Island Medical Center in Cranston. She was employed as a data processor for Hasbro Inc. in Pawtucket. Jane also worked as a claims representative for Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Providence. Before retiring she was an independent Cosmetologist for several salons.

Besides her husband she leaves four daughters, Julliet C. Jackson and her husband Radcliffe Beckford of Florida, Karen C. Harris and her husband David of Cranston, Mitzie A. Johnson and her husband Lawrence of Warwick and Cynthia N. Turner of East Providence, seven grandchildren, Tichanna Jackson, Ayisha Ferrera, David Charles Harris, Myles Johnson, Quintin Harris, Sharday and Mitzie Amare Johnson, five great-grandchildren, Sean Carwin, London Wilson Isles, Thesselia and Forrest Ferrera and Zamora Vessel, one sister, Pearl A. Frances, two brothers, Clifton L.C. Mignott and Charles H. Mignott and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021, at 11:00 AM in the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be held in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. Calling hours Thursday 5-7.
