James P. Phillips, Jr., 85, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the Rhode Island Veterans Home in Bristol. He was the husband of the late Lorraine (DeLomba) Phillips to whom he was married 61 years.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late James P., Sr. and Elizabeth E. (Charello) Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a truck driver for the Teamsters union before he retired. He was a Air Force veteran of the Korean War. After retiring he did volunteer work for Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island.

He leaves three children, James P. Phillips, III of East Providence, SSG. Donna Palumbo and her husband Michael of Riverside and Lori Ann Phillips of East Providence, three grandchildren, Patricia, Jennifer and Elizabeth, four great grandchildren, Kaylee, Jace, Cameron and Taylor and three great great grandchildren, Kylie, Adam and Elantae. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Phillips.

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 5-8.
