Irene (Perry) Silva, 94, of Winslow Gardens, died Friday, August 20, 2021 at Linn Healthcare Center, East Providence. She was the wife of the late Joseph “Sonny” Silva.

Irene was born in Providence, the daughter of the late Manuel “Perry” Pereira and Irene (Medeiros) Perry.

Irene had been a resident of East Providence for 17 years after moving from her home in Seekonk. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially on Martha’s Vineyard, loved traveling, was an avid reader, and a member of the Winslow choir and regular volunteer for many projects at Winslow Gardens.

Mrs. Silva is survived by her son, Tim Silva and his wife, Maria of Marstons Mills, MA, and her daughter, Cheryl Pariseau and her husband, Paul of Rumford, RI. Irene was the grandmother of Christopher Pariseau and his wife, Melissa, Cole Silva and Nina Silva.

She was the mother of the late, Joseph A. Silva and sister of the late Doris Perry and the late Joan Roderick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 21 Traverse Street, Providence, RI. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence, RI.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Gifts in her memory may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
