Gallery Night April 13, 5-7 PM

HOME is a collaboration of eleven artists working together to honor the beauty of our planet and celebrate Earth Month. The show features the work of Jillian Barber, Shawndavid Berry, Rachel Brask, Laura White Carpenter, David Chatowsky, Shane Dorey, Mandy Howe, Mary Jameson, Meredith LeBlanc, Manjula Padmanabhan, and Nick Williams.
THINKING GLOBALLY unites these artists; according to Manjula Padmanaban, photographs of the earth beamed from the moon inspired her to think of our planet as “an exquisite shining marble, alone in the star-studded emptiness of space,” and her artworks share that sense of wonder. Or, as Shane Dorey explains, “home is the feeling of exploring natural spaces … looking at all the details and the color shifts in a stone … No matter where I am, when I am exploring natural spaces, I feel at home.”
Their paintings, prints, sculptures, glass, and ceramics will be installed both inside and outside the Gallery. During Aquidneck Island Earth Week, April 22-29, artists will offer demonstrations, and there will be an ending reception featuring live music, more
demonstrations, and a short sculpture park walk.

The DeBlois Gallery is located at 134 Aquidneck Avenue in Middletown and is open 1-5pm Wednesday through Sunday. All welcome; ample, free parking!
