Henry W. Stad

Henry W. Stad, 102, of Rumford, passed peacefully on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Hope Health Hospice Center. Henry was the beloved husband of the late Maria (Pecchia) Stad to whom he was married 60 years.

Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Charles and Pauline (Blechoircszyk) Stadnicki. Henry graduated from Bryant College in 1940 with a degree in accounting. Henry proudly served with the Army Air Force in World War II. After returning home, he was an accountant in business with his brother Walter. Henry was passionate about his volunteer work as a tax counselor and teacher with AARP's Tax-Aide program, which he did well into his 90's. He loved traveling, spending time with family, telling stories about his time in the service and helping others.

He is survived by his three children, Kimberly Stad, Bradford Stad and his wife Aleathea and Christopher Stad and his wife Pamela, his five grandchildren, Corey and his wife Ngoc, Shannon and her husband Dakota, Erica, Jett and Luke and one great grandchild, Mika. He was the brother of the late Stella Gnys, Walter Stadnicki, Josephine Turrow and Francis "Frank" Stadnicki.

His funeral and visitation will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 8:30 AM in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Margaret Church, 1098 Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford. Burial will be private. The family respectfully requests that everyone please wear a mask.
