Edward W. Daft, Jr.

Edward W. Daft, Jr., 80 of Riverside passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at the Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the husband of Joan E. (Rocha) Daft to whom he was married 56 years.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Edward W. and Grace V. (O’Connor) Daft. Ed was the owner & operator of the former Ed’s Garage, which was located on Forbes Street in Riverside, for over 40 years. He was an officer of the Rhode Island Towing Association. He also was an Air Force veteran. Ed was a team sponsor and coach for the Riverside Little League for many years and will always be remembered as a loyal Red Sox fan. He enjoyed boating, hunting, was an avid reader and a 1959 graduate of LaSalle Academy. Above all else, was his family. He was a true family man and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Ed and Joan loved to travel throughout the United States and parts of Europe.

Besides his wife he leaves three sons, Timothy E. Daft and his wife Darlene C. of Jamestown, Christopher J. Daft and his wife Donna J. of Riverside and Edward M. Daft and his wife Lisa A. of Barrington. He was the proud grandfather of his seven grandchildren, James, Samantha, Emma, Jessica, Wyatt, Matthew and Alyssa.

His funeral service will be private. Contributions in his memory to Hope Hospice, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 would be deeply appreciated.
