Dennis E. Brown, 80, of Riverside, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Judith (O’Neil) Brown, to whom he was married 39 years.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Ralph and Mary (Smith) Brown.

Dennis owned and operated the “Mr. Butcher” meat market in East Providence for 16 years and was a Meat Department Manager at Shaw’s Supermarket for 20 years until he retired. Dennis also served in the U.S. Army during the 1960s. Dennis held a master’s degree in counseling from Rhode Island College, his clinical work focused on smoking cessation.

Dennis’s family was his love and his world. He was a very spiritual person, involving the Lord in every aspect of his daily life. Dennis loved boxing as a youngster, karate and music as an adult, and gardening in his retirement.

Besides his wife he leaves behind five adored children, Michelle Conklin and her husband Brian of Riverside, Justin Brown and his wife Kristen of Vienna, VA, Selena Cote and her husband Jonathan of Foxboro, MA, Sebastian Brown of Canton, MA, and Tara Brown of Johnston. He was the loving grandfather to eight grandchildren, Brian Riendeau, Laura Watson, Shawna Riendeau, Sebastian Conklin, Kurt Brown, Kevin Brown, Nathan Cote, Julia Cote, and two great-grandchildren, Ava Gardner, and Elliot Watson. He is survived by one brother, Frank Brown of Lincoln, RI. Dennis was the brother of the late, Mary Froment, Ralph Brown, Gladys Reichenbach, Kenneth Brown, Charles Brown, and Robert Brown.

Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
