Constance M. "Connie" Silveira, 89, of East Providence passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024 at her home. She was the wife of Joseph G. Silveira, Jr. to whom she was married 67 years.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Vargas and Mary (Rose) Alexander. Mrs. Silveira was a school secretary for the East Providence School Department for 21 years before she retired. To this day many former students have fond memories of her kind and cheery disposition. She and her husband were also the owners and operators of the former Silveira Paint & Wallpaper for many years.

Adopted at the age of three, she always felt special for being chosen by her loving parents. In her later years, she was joyfully reunited with her birth family.

Constance met her beloved husband Joseph at the age of 17, and they married in 1956, establishing a family in East Providence. Together, they created a wealth of cherished memories, traveling throughout New England and Florida, enjoying summers on the Lake , and visiting Faial in the Azores. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by her family. Whether at family gatherings, formal occasions, or casual card games with friends, her presence brought delight to all.

Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Patricia S. Whalen and her husband Edward of Seekonk and Kathline A. Levesque of East Providence, her son-in-law, Keith Correia, eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Theresa M. Correia and mother-in-law of the late Brian K. Levesque.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Xavier Church, North Carpenter Street.
