Betty Pinheiro of East Providence --New VP of Operations, Wave Federal Credit Union

Warwick, Rhode Island. The Board of Directors of Wave Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Betty A. Pinheiro as Vice President of Operations.

Betty A. Pinheiro has been promoted to the position of Vice President of Operations. In this role, she will oversee retail and back-office operations, ensuring development and implementation of efficient and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization. Betty joined Wave in 1995 as an intern providing administrative support to the President and CEO and for over 25 years worked her way up to Director of Operations, AVP Member Service and now as the Vice President of Operations. She has been actively involved in charitable giving programs on behalf of the credit union and has had the opportunity to organize and participate in fundraising drives in support of Special Olympics Rhode Island, Toys for Tots, West Bay Community Action Food Drive and Giving Tree, Operations VA Holiday Cheer and the adoption of local churches and area families. For the past 10 years, she has also had the opportunity to work with local middle and high school students through the credit union’s CU4 Reality Program. She said, “Giving back to the community has always been an important and integral part of my service with the credit union”.

When asked about her career at Wave, Mrs. Pinheiro said: “I have enjoyed the opportunity to grow and develop with Wave. I have had the opportunity work within all the areas of the credit union and the opportunity to move up through the ranks. I’ve learned the importance of collaboration and having a team that works well together. I feel a strong sense of achievement and satisfaction in working with my fellow team members and providing optimal, professional service to all our members.”

Betty and her husband, Luis, reside in East Providence, RI. When Betty is not collaborating with her team members and credit union members, she can be seen enjoying water sports, including boating and jet skiing, and enjoying quality time with her husband, daughter, fur baby and family.
