Barrington Library Annual Book Sale Is A Go On November 5 – 8

This year’s sale will include timed admission tickets and social distancing, as well as mandatory masks, for responsible participation

The Friends of the Barrington Library will once again host their multi-day Annual Book Sale in the library at 281 County Road, but things will be a little different. This popular community event, which is planned for Thursday, November 5 to Sunday,

November 8, will be by reservation and timed admission ticket, with a limited number of people allowed in for each time period to allow for safe social distancing. You can reserve your time at Eventbrite.com or through a link at www.FriendsoftheBarringtonLibrary.org, Masks and social distancing will be required and hand sanitizer readily available. No one will be admitted without a reserved admission ticket.

While you may have to plan ahead to get in the doors, the Friends can pretty much guarantee you’ll find favorite authors and topics among the thousands of donated fiction, nonfiction books, and children’s books, all arranged by category, Most paperbacks are priced beginning at $.50 and hardcovers from $1.00 to $3.00. CDs and DVDs are also on sale.

The book sale schedule includes special times for dealers and members of the Friends of the Barrington Library, as well as free admission for the general public:
Thursday-November 5, 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Benefit Preview for Dealers $20 per person Admission Fee is payable at www.Eventbrite.com 

Friday-November 6, 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Members Preview Members free. Join at door if renewing or non-member. Membership fees are $10 individual and $15 family.
Free admission for the general public is offered on Saturday-November 7, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and Sunday-November 8, 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.

How it will work:
Given Covid guidelines, the Friends have had to make the following changes to operate the Annual Book Sale safely and responsibly.

Entry to the Annual Book Sale will be by timed admission ticket only. You must register in advance online at www.Eventbrite.com for each person, including children, attending, Reservations for timed entry tickets also may be made at www.FriendsoftheBarringtonLibrary.org, where a direct link to Eventbrite is available.

Not unlike timed entries at museums, the annual book sale will admit a limited number of people for each half-hour time period, to allow for safe and socially distant browsing.

For the Thursday Benefit Preview, dealers may reserve their timed admission tickets at Eventbrite and pay the $20 fee per person online.

Renewing and new members may reserve their timed admission tickets and pay online at Eventbrite. Current members will be admitted free of charge with their timed admission ticket.

Credit cards will be accepted for entry, new memberships, membership renewals and book sale purchases.

The Annual Book Sale and The Daily Book Sale are fundraisers of the Friends of the Barrington Library, which for 40 years has supported many community programs for all ages at the library and online. In the past year, the all-volunteer group has provided funds for more than 80% of library activities. Additional information is available at www.FriendsoftheBarringtonLibrary.org
