Seekonk Animal Shelter

Eldon is a one-year-old, short haired, tiger and white male cat. He was adopted as a kitten from our shelter last year and was a fun, sweet little guy who unfortunately has not had a good year. His previous owner was required to get him neutered when he was old enough but was never heard from by the required deadline, so the shelter staff began following up only to be hung up on and avoided. She moved and was traced to be living in Boston but still unreachable. A few months ago, Eldon was picked up by animal control walking the streets in Boston and since his owner never registered his microchip, it was tracked back to us. The good news is that Eldon is now safe and sound with us but when he arrived he was very withdrawn and fearful of humans. We are unsure as to what type of abuse he encountered with his previous owner but we’ve been working with him over the past few months and we are pleased with his progress. He is still timid but once he feels comfortable with you, he enjoys being pet and is really very sweet. He also loves catnip! We expect Eldon to blossom when he finds a loving family who will provide patience and TLC in a quiet home with no other pets or small children.
