Townie JV's Win State Title for Second Year in a Row

The East Providence High School Girls basketball team is having a good year with its' overall 12-7 record. The team is gearing up to make the state playoffs. Tonight is Senior Night for the team as Townie seniors will be honored.

Adding to the evening's excitement is the "chase" toward the 1,000 point career total for senior Angie Leonardo. Leonardo looks to be the second female ever in EP history to reach the 1,000 point milestone. She is six points away from this accomplishment.

"I hope we have a big community turnout to support Angie toward this milestone," said coach Mike Solitro. "The team is behind Angie all the way and we hope to make a run into the post-season," added Solitro.

Also the Lady Townies Junior Varsity team just won the State Championship for the second consecutive year. Tonight's game starts at 7:00 p.m. at the high school.
