City of EP wants Local Businesses to turn Green!

Attention East Providence Businesses!

The City is looking for local businesses that are actively utilizing or are in the process of developing "green technology" as a means of saving energy costs for their company and/or utilizing practices that reduce impacts to the natural environment. The field of "green technology" encompasses a continuously evolving group of methods and materials for generating energy and saving energy. Energy saving technologies may include solar, wind and geothermal technologies but may also utilize technologies that conserve energy by other innovative means including energy monitoring systems, alternative lighting technologies, including led and plasma lighting, lighting control systems and other technologies designed to reduce or more efficiently manage energy consumption. Energy saving construction techniques including LEED certified construction would also be considered projects that are eligible for consideration.

The City will be selecting companies within East Providence that are utilizing innovative green technology design for the purposes of highlighting their businesses on the Green America Hometown Tour hosted by Peter Arpin.
