Young Men's Choral Festival

The Providence Singers, a 100-voice choral organization based in East Providence, sponsors a yearly choral festival for tenors and basses aged 13-19. This year we’re going online, led by Dr. Anthony Trecek-King, the host of the Emmy-nominated WGBH television series Sing That Thing. Dr. TK is a dynamic conductor, educator, and speaker who can be heard online in two TEDx Boston talks. He is associate professor and Director of Choral Activities at the Hartt School of Music, and we’re delighted to have him heading this program. Here’s more information:

Young Men’s Choral Festival will be held online as a series of three Zoom workshops on Saturday, January 30, 2021.

2:30-1:30pm: Vocal Awareness Workshop with Paulo Faustini, tenor and vocal coach

1:30-2:30pm: Sight-singing and ear training with John Black, Providence Singers assistant conductor

3:00-4:00pm: Choral Session with Dr. Anthony Trecek-King

About The Clinicians
Paulo Faustini is a professional singer and vocal coach. His students have been accepted into major music schools such as the Juilliard School, Eastman School of Music, New England Conservatory, and the Westminster Choir College.

John Black, assistant director and pianist for the Providence Singers, is a performer, educator, conductor, composer and church music director. He holds a master's degree in music education and is pursuing a second graduate degree in performance.

Dr. Anthony Trecek-King has earned an international reputation as a choral conductor, scholar, educator, and media personality. He is an Associate Professor and the Director of Choral Activities at The Hartt School of Music. Dr. TK can be seen on-air and online on the Emmy-nominated WGBH television series Sing That Thing and two TEDx Boston Talks
