Virginia Silva 91, a life-long resident of East Providence passed away at
Rhode Island Hospital on Holy Thursday April 18, 2019 with her daughter by her side.

She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mary (Cabral) Silva and 8 older siblings. She is survived by her husband George, daughter Jean Saylor and her husband Bill, cats Baby and Katie and numerous nieces and nephews.

She cared very deeply about family and in her younger days made it a point to visit all of her many relatives on a regular basis. She was a caregiver who took care of her mom, dad, mother-in-law and her sister. Her goal in life was to be a mom and she accomplished that goal by being the best mom a daughter could ever have and she is and will be very deeply missed every single day.

Virginia was the life of any party and everyone wanted to be at her table. She always wore that winning smile. She loved ice skating and watched every Olympic event that involved the sport. She also loved to read, do crossword puzzles, plain old puzzles and was the champ at checkers. It is hard to imagine holidays or any event without her there.

Losing a parent is very hard but when that parent is also your best female friend it makes the pain worse.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday June 15th at 10:00am in St. Martha's Church Pawtucket Avenue East Providence. Burial will be private.
