School Committee Terms of Office

So, it seems the "snafu" regarding the length of terms of office for City Of East Providence Council members has been resolved. Turns out it did not require State approval as had been thought. But what about the same issue for School Committee, which was also approved by voters for 4 years in that same referendum? Supposedly that matter must receive approval from the "State". But what is being done about it? What State agency must approve it? Where does it stand? Is anyone following up to see that the "will of the people" of East Providence is followed this time. Have seen nothing mentioned in this regard in any of the articles published on the matter. Let's not have another "issue" come about because of lack of follow-up.
