Providence, RI: Trinity Rep announces that tickets to An Iliad will go on sale to the public Monday, October 1, 2018 beginning at 10:00 am. Tickets will be available for purchase by phone at (401) 351-4242, online at www.trinityrep.com, or in person at the theater’s box office at 201 Washington Street, Providence. This is a limited-run special engagement that will be on stage only from February 6 – February 10, 2019. Previously tickets had only been available to subscribers.

Based on Homer’s The Iliad, this adaptation by Lisa Peterson and Denis O’Hare is a solo show that features a lone storyteller, known only at The Poet, recounting the familiar tales of god and goddesses, wars and battles, and humanity’s unshakeable attraction to violence, destruction, and chaos over the millennia. The Poet will be played by longtime resident acting member Brian McEleney, who will also be directing the production.

This show pairs perfectly with Trinity Rep’s season production of black odyssey by Marcus Gardley. black odyssey is the tale of Ulysses Lincoln, a Gulf War veteran struggling to find his way home while unknowingly being controlled by a host of gods. black odyssey runs January 3, - February 3, 2019 and is an ideal complement to An Iliad as they stand the test of time as both of Homer’s classic epic poems.

An Iliad is presented by Cornish and Associates. Tickets prices begin at $25. For information on group discounts for parties of 10 or more contact Group Sales at (401) 351-4242 x 238.
