Sturdy Memorial Hospital Receives ‘A’ In Spring 2017 Hospital Safety Score

Posted

Attleboro, MA, May 5, 2017 – Sturdy Memorial Hospital was honored with an “A” grade in The Leapfrog Group’s Hospital Safety Score for spring 2017, which rates how well hospitals protect patients from errors, injuries, and infections.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by The Leapfrog Group,” says Dr. Bruce Auerbach, President & CEO of Sturdy. “Everyone in the organization—including physicians, nurses, other clinicians, ancillary and support staff, and the entire leadership team—is ever-mindful of ensuring safe, optimum-quality care for the people we serve.”
Of the 2,639 hospitals rated, 823 earned an “A" grade. The program has been assigning A, B, C, D and F letter grades to general acute-care hospitals in the U.S. since 2012. Over that time there have been significant strides in improving patient safety, such as a 21 percent decline in hospital acquired conditions, increased adoption and improved functionality of computerized physician order entry systems, and millions of averted patient harms.
