The Rehoboth Board of Selectmen observed a moment of silence Monday for Jane Foster, the town’s former Animal Control Officer. Foster passed away on June 1 at the age of 79. Foster “gave a lot to this town,” said Selectman Rob Johnson. “She will be sadly missed.”

Selectmen approved a new organizational structure for the town. The Board will soon hold a “detailed discussion” with town department heads to explain the changes.

“It will be a real tool for citizens to figure out who to call,” said Selectman George Solas.

“This is a document that will change with time,” noted Chairman Skip Vadnais. “It’s going to allow different sets of eyes to pay attention to areas of this town rather than just one person. We have a group that works very well together.”

Richard Panofsky, Sue Pimental, and Town Administrator Deborah Arruda all collaborated on the changes.

In addition, the Board also approved a new three year contract for Building Commissioner William McDonough.

Selectman Lenny Mills said McDonough, who also serves as the Zoning Officer “does an excellent job.”
