Seekonk Police Celebrate Bill Soule’s 100th Birthday

Posted

Members of the Seekonk Police Department celebrated Bill Soule’s special birthday on November 2. Soule, a veteran of World War 2, turned 100 years old.

Soule, who was part of the invasion of Normandy and fought in the Battle of the Bulge, will serve as Parade Marshal for the Veterans Day observance on Saturday.

“It’s just a number,” Soule told the Reporter last September.

Soule has maintained a positive attitude through the hardships of life.

“You’ve got to live day to day and hope for the best,” Soule said. “But you never know from one day to the next what’s going to happen.”

As for the secrets to a long life, Soule offers some practical advice.

“Keep in good health. Keep busy. Keep your feet on the floor and make sure you walk around all the time. Be a good citizen.”
