Rehoboth Mourns Town Historian Otis Dyer

Posted

The Board of Selectmen paid tribute to E. Otis Dyer, Sr, the town historian, who passed away Monday.

Dyer, 95, served as the Grand Marshal of the town’s 375th Anniversary Parade.

Dyer also served on the Planning Board for many years. He helped to establish the town’s first zoning map.

Selectmen Chairman Skip Vadnais called Dyer “one of the pillars of our community” and an “extraordinary citizen” at the board’s meeting.

“Otis has provided the town with 57 plus years of dedicated service,” said Selectman George Solas.

Dyer was a member of the Historical Commission for more than 50 years.

A moment of silence was observed in Dyer’s memory.
