Rehoboth Group Wants Ban on ‘Nips’

The members of Keep Rehoboth Beautiful want a ban on ‘nips’ – miniature bottles of alcohol which measure 1.7 ounces.

475 ‘nips’ were collected from five streets in town.

So far, the Massachusetts communities of Chelsea, Mashpee, Falmouth, Wareham, and Newton have banned the nips.

Keep Rehoboth Beautiful believes banning the bottles will protect the environment, reduce roadside litter, and could save lives by reducing drinking and driving.

A citizens petition will be presented to the Board of Selectmen, who will add an article to the town meeting warrant.
