Rehoboth 2017 Memorial Day Parade

Monday, May 29th at the Rehoboth Memorial Gazebo

Posted

The Rehoboth-Dighton Memorial Day Committee has been busy working out the details for the May 29, 2017 event. Rehoboth and Dighton will again join forces for this annual event. Rehoboth Veterans Agent John “Jake” Kramer is coordinating the event. If you are group looking to participate, you may call either the Rehoboth Veterans Agent or the Dighton Veterans Agent. Volunteers are still needed to help coordinate marching units, starters, and parking directors on Memorial Day. Please call Jake Kramer at 508-252-4467 to volunteer.

This year’s Parade will be dedicated to Clint Springer II who was killed in Afghanistan and the Veterans Agent, Jake Kramer will speak on behalf of the Springer Family who reside in Rehoboth.

The Parade starts at the Rehoboth Council of Aging around 10:15am and goes along Bay State Road leading up to and ending at the Veterans Memorial. All divisions in the parade will have a staging area for embarkation with Boy Scout Troop 13 assisting in the staging of the “Vendors” (participants in the parade). The Ceremony at the gazebo will commence around 11:40am and end at 12:00pm sharp with the lowering and raising of the American flag.

This year we’ll have the 338th Engineer Horizontal Construction Company out of Attleboro Reserve Center participating with their equipment along with the Massachusetts National Guard of Rehoboth, 125th Quartermaster Company.

The American Legion, the Ceremony coordinators and the D-R HS Band will not allow a little rain to cancel the Parade.
