Raymond F. Hayes

Raymond F. Hayes, 86, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. He was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor L. (Corrigan) Hayes for 58 years.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Timothy J. and Maude J. (Murtha) Hayes. He resided in Seekonk since 1967.

Ray was a Korean War U.S. Navy veteran.

He attended WPI and was very proud that four of his grandchildren followed in his footsteps.

Ray was a configuration specialist for Raytheon for more than 30 years until retiring in 1992 and was also a Seekonk Special Police Officer.

Ray was an avid hiker and skier and loved spending time at his home in New Hampshire. His faith and church were very important to him and he was a recipient of the Marion Award from the Diocese of Fall River.

Most of all, Ray was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his family. He will always be remembered by all for his great sense of humor and love of apple pie.

Ray leaves five loving children: Patricia A. Hayes of Seekonk, Stephen R. Hayes and his longtime girlfriend, Lori Spaziano of Valrico, Fla., Ann Marie H. Van De Giesen and her husband Cal of Franklin, Kathleen E. Tierney and her husband Steve and Christine M. Iaconis and her husband Bob, all of North Attleboro; a brother, Timothy Hayes; a sister, Mary Swift; 13 grandchildren, two great-granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Catherine Carvalho and Helen Russell.

His funeral with military honors will be held Tuesday, July 10 at 9 a.m. from William W. Tripp Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, Coyle Drive, Seekonk. Interment will follow at Seekonk Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.
