New Street Names Approved in Rehoboth

The Rehoboth Board of Selectmen approved new street names on Monday.

• The streets at Trinity Estates will include Dublin Road and O’Hern Way.
• For Eastwood Estates, Phase one: Skylar Way and Kaylee Drive. For Eastwood Estates, Phase two: Chelsea Circle.

Selectman Jim Muri explained more research was being conducted for the remaining street names for those developments. Muri had suggested naming streets after types of fish or birds, such as perch, herring, chickadee, hawk, or heron. Another idea of Muri’s was naming streets after minerals found in town such as limestone or quartz.

Selectmen said street names which are consistent with the town’s history was a priority. “We look for uniqueness,” said Selectmen Chairman Gerry Schwall.
