Family Nature Hikes
Saturdays, March 4.

Audience: Families of all ages
Members: Free
Nonmembers: $2.00/person (Max family price of $8)

Join us on our monthly hike of the sanctuary. Get outside and get some exercise! These guided hikes are a great way to learn about local plants and animals. Family Owl Prowls
Saturday, Mar. 4, 5:00pm - 6:30pm

Audience: All (suitable for ages 7 and up)
Members: Adult $8.00, Child $6.00
Nonmembers: Adult $10.00, Child $8.00

Join us, after dark, for this fun evening to learn about owls and their habitats. Start indoors learning about the “Owls of Massachusetts” and explore and touch owl artifacts as we discuss many of the interesting adaptations owls have. Sensory Explorations
Sundays, March 19.

Audience: Families of all ages and abilities!
Members: $2.00
Nonmembers: $4.00

Join us on our monthly hike exploring Oak Knoll Wildlife Sanctuary. Each month will focus on using a different sense to investigate natural wonders. We may explore using only our hearing or look at the features of a tree from centimeters away. In case of inclement weather all programs will instead be held in the nature center at Oak Knoll. Roots & Shoots

Audience: Kids ages 8-13
Members: Child $8.00/class
Nonmembers: Child $10.00/class

Roots & Shoots started as a small youth-led community action program founded by Dr. Jane Goodall in 1991. Now, it’s globally comprised of thousands of young people inspired to make the world a better place. Our program will help youth develop self-respect, confidence, and hope for the future through steward-based activities. Hours served in the program can be documented for community service portfolios. Backyard Salamanders

Our local population of salamanders, and other amphibian friends, is full of beauty and questions. What is it like to switch from a water dweller, to a terrestrial organism? How can their lifestyle help us understand the environmental health of our community? Join us at Oak Knoll to learn about local amphibians and learn about our the local work taking place to help us observe salamanders.
