Joshua Luis Pereira Seeks City Council Ward 2 Seat

East Providence RI— Date — On March 1, 2018 Joshua Luis Pereira entered the political arena with his Bid to run for City Council Ward 2 seat in East Providence RI
Joshua is the man we need!!

Joshua is a lifelong resident of East Providence and attributes many of his accomplishments to his Townie upbringing. He was a student of Whiteknact Elementary School, Martin Middle School and in 2006 graduated from East Providence High School. He graduated from Rhode Island College with a B.A. in Psychology and Justice Studies and is currently enrolled in Omega Bible Institute and Seminary to obtain his Masters of Divinity.

He is the Executive Pastor at Saving Grace Worship Center. . As a minister and a man of integrity Joshua will bring an open and transparent government.
Joshua is also a local business owner having started his first company, Joshua Luis Enterprises, LLC comprised of two divisions – Out of Eden Landscaping, in 2009, and The Carpenter’s Son Painting & Carpentry, in 2016. In 2014, he and a business partner opened the doors to Scarlet Realty & Property Management – all based in the City of East Providence.

He is also a Computer Operations Specialist for the Pawtucket Police Department and a member of Local 3960 (Council 94) Professional & Technical Union and was part of the negotiating team for the last contract.

Joshua is very active in our community, and continues to do so as he enters his third year serving as the Whiteknact School PTA President. With the support of his team the PTA has been driven to meet new and important initiatives while continuously providing more services for the Whiteknact Elementary students. Joshua and his team have made numerous appearances to School Committee Meetings as an advocate for a playground, as Whiteknact is the only school in the district without one. This resulted in the School Committee earmarking $25K towards this initiative, the PTA has raised over $60K to date.
Joshua would like to share his vision and platform for this great city. In the upcoming weeks we will be releasing articles detailing each of the following initiatives.

1.CONTROL AND PRIORITIZE SPENDING.
2.INVEST WISELY IN OUR AGING SCHOOLS.
3.CREATE AN ECONOMIC CLIMATE THAT WILL ATTRACT BUSINESS INVESTMENT AND JOBS.
4.VIGOROUSLY FIGHT FOR THE NEEDS OF OUR RESIDENTS AND BEAUTIFUL CITY!

There are numerous issues that need to be addressed here in our fair city. However, a few issues are really basic accommodations that our residents deserve as tax payers. We seriously need to fix our ailing roads & drinking water infrastructure. Further we need to reduce the water and sewage bill. These issues are essential to our resident’s well-being and the well-being of their property. Drinking water is a basic necessity.

Joshua and his wife Nancy with their two children Hailey and Aiden are excited to embark on this new journey together.
