Jennie (Medeiros) Thatch, 103, a longtime resident of Seekonk, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, October 17, 2017 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. She was the wife of the late James C. Thatch. They had been married 75 years before his death in 2012.

Born Feb. 16, 1914, in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Francisco and Irene (Barboza) Medeiros. Jennie loved flowers, animals and taking care of her family. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

She leaves her son, James Thatch and his wife Pamela of Anchorage, AK; 5 grandchildren, Michael Thompson of Seekonk, Julianne (Thatch) Latto of Anchorage, AK, James D.L. Thatch of Anchorage, AK, Jennie A. E. (Thatch) Taylor of Anchorage, AK; and 8 great grandchildren.

She was the mother of the late Kathleen Ann Thompson; the grandmother of the late Jerry David Thompson; and the sister of the late Mary Costa, Irene Perry, Claire Howe, Rose Fay, Louise Marie Simon, and Joseph, Frank and Ernest Medeiros.

Her funeral will begin Friday, October 20, at 10am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Traverse St., Providence. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4pm until 7pm.
