GFWC Taunton Junior Woman’s Club presented Seven Scholarships to area students

This year GFWC Taunton Junior Woman’s Club donated $3500 in scholarships to seven area students. Applications were sent to twelve public high schools and colleges/universities in the Taunton region where our club has at least two members. They include Taunton, Bridgewater, Norton, Dighton, Lakeville, Rehoboth, Freetown, Assonet, Raynham, Brockton, Berkley and Somerset. We received thirty-seven applications. Through a committee of six members the applications were scored and the top seven recipients were selected. The recipients along with their families were invited to our membership drive get together on Monday August 8th at the Silver Platter Restaurant at Bristol Plymouth High School. The recipients include: Kaci Leonard, Corinne Hathaway, Kayla Pratt, Natalie Fredericksen, Samantha Crowley, Michelle Aminova and Cameron White. We wish them the best through their collegiate endeavors.

The “Meet and Greet” included a video presentation about our club, presentation of the scholarships by President Robin Gendron and Education Chairman Nancy Martin, homemade treats and the filling of backpacks for children from the JRI Foster Care and Adoption Agency.
