Former Schools Superintendent, John DeGoes dies Tuesday morning.

Sad news for all of East Providence and a good deal of Rhode Island. EP has been rocked again by a sad, untimely death. This morning, beloved educator, John DeGoes passed away. I can't begin to tell you how EP's collective heart is breaking. This man answered every call from schools and groups across the state to help when needed. He was a true Townie in every sense of the slogan. He guided EP schools through an unsteady time - twice - and was a calming, effective Superintendent of Schools here and elsewhere. I know you join me in sending EP's condolences to the DeGoes family. More info will be forthcoming. Services may be Friday and Saturday, but that's tentative. I will keep everyone posted.
