Fitchburg State University Holds 122nd Commencement Exercises

Fitchburg – Fitchburg State University recently held its 122nd commencement exercises, graduate and undergraduate spring ceremonies.
The address at the undergraduate ceremony was delivered by Brig. Gen. Frederick A. Henry, U.S. Army, retired, a 1984 alumnus.

President Richard S. Lapidus also recognized Kristen Ann Windoloski of Easthampton as the undergraduate valedictorian. The mathematics major will continue her education with a full scholarship to a master’s and doctorate program at North Carolina State University.

The President’s Medal was awarded to Our Father’s House, a social service agency serving the homeless in Northern Worcester County.
Michelle Downey of North Andover received the Graduate Student Leadership Award in recognition of her work during the pursuit of a master’s degree in special education.

In all, the university conferred more than 700 graduate and undergraduate degrees this spring.
