Filomena E. deFaria, 93 passed away Monday December 11, 2017 at Evergreen Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Sergio G. deFaria. Born in Praia do Norte, Faial, Azores she was a daughter of the late Manuel G and Maria E (Gomes) Ferreira. She was a machine operator for Davol Rubber for 18 years before retiring in 1986. Filomena was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church. Filomena is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Maria E. Gomes, Ana Faria, Jose G., and Miguel Ferreira. Her funeral will be held on Thursday December 14, 2017 at 9 AM from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Francis Xavier Church 81 North Carpenter St., East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to St. Francis Xavier Church.
