After some hiccups as the baseball season winds down, the East Providence Townies got back on the winning track with a 1-0 playoff win over Lincoln High this past Tuesday. The Townies Seth Daly shut out Lincoln allowing just two hits.

The Townies continue to hit sparingly as they only had four hits. Ben Sears and Cole Poissant each had two hits for the Townies. The game remained scoreless until the 6th inning when Poissant singled and scored after Seth Daly sacrificed and Ben Sears singled. Poissant scored on a Zach Fanara ground out.

East Providence advances to play Hendricken today in Warwick at 4pm. Earlier this season the Townies beat Hendricken but expects an uphill battle today at the always tough Hawks home field.

The game is highly anticipated as Townie ace Ben Sears, who was recently named the coveted Gatorade Player of the Year in Rhode Island, will face Hendricken. Sears is essentially considered the best pitcher in the state and is among the state's top hitters.
