EPHS Football Players Named to All-State Team for 2016-17

East Providence, Senior, DB/QB Ryan Ellinwood led a group of Townie football players who were named to the All-State squad for this past season. They are:

Ryan Ellinwood, Division I-A. Ellinwood was one of the state's top players during his high school years at EP. He was a top quarterback and played safety. Ellinwood ran for over 1500 yards and scored 22 touchdowns for the Townies. He also played defense and had over 70 tackles. Ellinwood was a three year starter for East Providence, rushing for 3,000 yards. In his career he ran for 30 touchdowns and also passed for 30 TD's.

In the Rhode Island Coaches Association All-Division Selections, First Team Offense Division I-A:

EP's Steve Simpson, a Tight End/Wide Receiver. First Team Defense, Ryan Ellinwood, Defensive Back.

Second Team picks were Dion Hazard, Justin Viscolosi, and Cameron Green of the Townies.

Third Team picks were Will Robertson and Rico Darosa.
