EPHS & CTC DECA Chapter Campaigns Promoting November as National DECA Month!

Posted

November is National DECA Month and the members of the East Providence High School and Career & Technical Center DECA Chapter have been busy working on three Chapter Campaigns to gain attendance at the DECA International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, GA, in late April 2018.

Their first endeavor was recruiting 20 new DECA Chapter members. They succeeded with this task. We are now attempting to contact and recruit 20 former DECA Alum and 20 Business Professionals to fulfill this task. The membership dues are $18 per person. We hope that some of the EP/Seekonk Rotary members, Chamber of Commerce and EP Business community members will consider assisting us with this goal. If you are interested, please forward a check for $18 payable to EPHS DECA Attention: Chrystine Caffrey, EPHS, 2000 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence, RI. 02914. All membership dues must be paid to National DECA before December 1st to succeed in this campaign.

In addition, the students have been collecting “Toys for Tots.” This Community Service project will continue throughout the month of November into early December. A donation box is located in the Main Office. If any member of the community is interested in dropping off some new toys, please bring them to the Main Office of the high school during school hours.

Last but not least, the DECA Chapter members have been working on three school and three community outreach activities bringing awareness to DECA as a national high school and collegiate organization.

Our students are working hard to complete these tasks for submission by December 1st. If anyone has any questions or offer any assistance, please feel free to contact Chrystine Caffrey at the high school to leave a message.
