East Providence Relay For Life Paints the Town PURPLE!

Posted by EPRelay

The East Providence Relay For Life needs your help - we are turning our city purple! Why purple? Purple is the color of hope and is the color cancer survivors wear at Relay For Life. From April 1st through April 15th, we will be holding a "Paint Our Town Purple" contest to raise awareness for our event. Five wonderful local businesses have pledged to help paint East Providence purple! Now we need your help - decide which business should win our contest! Visit CVS on Warren Ave, Graphic Ink, Phil Gasbarro Liquors, Romani Orthodontics, and Smith Family Dental to see their purple spirit; each business has a ballot box, please cast your vote for your favorite! One wonderful business will win the coveted purple paintbrush!

For those unfamiliar with the event, Relay For Life is an overnight event that brings the community together in the fight against cancer while raising funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society. In addition to life saving research, education and advocacy activities, the American Cancer Society provides hundreds of patient-related services to Rhode Island residents each year. During Relay For Life individuals and teams - made up of family, friends, co-workers and community groups - will unite to fundraise, walk the track, socialize, take in the entertainment, and participate in a variety of activities held throughout the day and night to bring awareness to the disease and to recognize survivors and caregivers. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. To learn more about the East Providence Relay For Life, to view team fundraisers, and for teams and survivor sign please visit
