East Providence Police Statement:

"Please be advised that there is another IRS scam going around, especially within the Riverside area of the city. People are receiving phone calls in which the caller is asking for the person's information to clear up an IRS issue. These are not calls made from the IRS. Remember, never give out important information over the phone to anyone, especially date of birth and social security numbers. If you receive one of these calls do not give out any of your information to the caller, contact the IRS if you question the calls authenticity."
