Domestic Assault Charges Against Rave Dismissed

The Domestic Assault charges against Seekonk Fire Chief David Rave were dismissed Wednesday in Warwick District Court.

Rave, 53, was arrested June 18 at his Cranston home. He was ordered held on a $1000 personal recognizance.

Earlier this month, the victim in the case had requested the no-contact order be lifted. The judge denied the request.

Rave’s future with the Fire Department remains in doubt. Rave had been placed on paid administrative leave following his arrest. Town Administrator Shawn Cadime could not be reached for comment.

Rave began working for the town last August following the retirement of former Chief Michael Healy, who is currently a member of the Board of Selectmen.
