Dighton-Rehoboth Regional Graduate of 2000 Wins National Fiction Writers Contest
Posted
At the recent ACFW Convention in St. Louis, Missouri, Heidi Chiavaroli, of Swansea, Massachusetts, formerly of Dighton, Massachusetts, won the 2014 Genesis Award in the Historical Fiction (up to the Vietnan era) for her unpublished novel, "Tears of the Outcast" which is set partly on an island off the coast of New Bedford where, at one time, people with leprosy were secluded.
Heidi was one of the top 3 contenders in the contest, and two of her novels were in the top 10! Heidi has entered this contest for the past seven years. It is a huge accomplishment to win. Though there are no guarantees of publication, she is now working closely with a respected agent and editor in the field.
