Statement from David O'Connell

I offer this statement as a press release for my campaign:

I am happy that the League of Women Voters is holding an open debate for all East Providence candidates for public office in the evening of September 5 at Martin Middle School. I look forward to hearing urgent questions from local residents and offering my views and positions to address their issues. Unfortunately, my opponent Jose Serodio has decided not to participate in this public forum, and so has chosen not to hear and respond to the pressing concerns of the people he wants to vote for him. When a person enters the contest to run for an office in the Rhode Island General Assembly, it should be his top priority to be ready to face his constituents in a public forum and to respond to their questions clearly and intelligently. I am sure that all East Providence residents are as disappointed as I am in my opponent for ignoring this important local debate. Meanwhile, I am always interested is hearing from and responding to the concerns of my fellow Townies.
