Covid in DRRSD Update

Posted

The COVID landscape continues to create new challenges for all as we enter into the 2021-22 school year. Despite the ongoing challenge, the faculty, staff and administrators of Dighton Rehoboth Public School system are excited to have students returning to rich academic and extracurricular activities.

As we navigate these early school days, we must continue to monitor and respond to current health conditions. Utilizing health and safety protocols to ensure students can stay in school learning and connected to others is critical for a productive year. With the appropriate health and safety measures in place, we can successfully address learning and provide appropriate social emotional support to students.

With this in mind, I would like to remind families to utilize the attached resources provided by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for determining when a child should remain home and/or be referred for medical follow up.

In addition, to facilitate our ability to screen your child/student for COVID 19 should your child present with symptomatic concerns, parental permission needs to be on file. You can submit the permission via the following link:

Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Funds

Below, you will find a link to a survey that we are asking all recipients of this email to complete. We are asking you to provide important input regarding the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Funds. The American Rescue Plan was enacted on March 11, 2021 and provides additional funds for school districts to respond to the COVID-19 Pandemic. In order for the district to receive these funds, the district must consult with key stakeholder groups to help us set priorities on how best to utilize these funds. Please take a few moments to provide important input regarding the prioritization of these federal funds. We appreciate your participation in this survey. The survey will be open through September 27, 2021.

Dr. Anthony C. Azar Superintendent of Schools
