Children's Friend has been Providing Safe, Temporary Homes for Children since 1834

Before the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children or the Department of Children, Youth, and Families, there was Harriet Ware, our founder. It is quite impossible to measure the number of children that have had their lives changed for the better thanks to her efforts and legacy.

Fast forward to 2017, our agency continues to work with very special people to provide the love and care that our foster children so desperately need. It may be a short stay until they can be reunified with their birth parents or a longer one ending in adoption. In either case, stability, nurturing, and safety for foster children are our primary goals.

Here at Children's Friend, we celebrate, honor, and appreciate our foster parents all year long. They are part of the team that puts vulnerable children and their best interests first.
