You are invited to join us in the 40th anniversary of the RI Annual Heritage Day Festival, a celebration of our state's rich cultural heritage. The lawn will have booths from countries such as Venezuela, India, Haiti, Portugal, Argentina, Korea, Ireland and others that will showcase their culture.
The Rhode Island Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission partners with the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) to celebrate peace, diversity and the rich ethnic cultures in the state of Rhode Island.
The booths will have cultural exhibits and display craft demonstrations from all over the world. The food court will have traditional foods and drinks. The children’s area will have The Peace Flag Project, face painting and arts and crafts.
A parade of international flags representing over 30 countries will start off the day. Dancers and musicians from various countries dressed in native and colorful costumes will perform Saturday afternoon. Kobi Dennis of Unified Solutions and Angela Sharkey will be the MC’s.
We will be celebrating National Welcoming Week (Sept 16-25) and Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept 15-Oct 15). Sponsorship help by Pawtucket Credit Union and Neighborhood Health Plan of RI.
The Rhode Island Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission is the state office for historic preservation and heritage programs. The Commission is responsible for developing and carrying out programs to document, support, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Rhode Island's people.
