Ventura Is The First Republican On The Bristol & Norfolk Ballot

State Senate Candidate Jacob Ventura becomes the first Republican candidate on the ballot for the Bristol & Norfolk special election.

Boston, MA - Jacob Ventura, republican State Senate candidate for the vacant Bristol and Norfolk seat, has filed his nomination papers to become the first republican to be on the ballot for the primary on September 19th.

“I am honored to be the first Republican included on the ballot for this special election. We are building a broad coalition of republican and independent voters who want accountability in state government,” said Ventura. “This campaign that is built to win both the primary and general elections.”

Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson, State Representative Steven S. Howitt (R-Seekonk), and State Representative Shawn Dooley (R-Norfolk) have endorsed Ventura’s candidacy for State Senate.

Jacob Ventura, an attorney and current legislative aide for State Representative Steven S. Howitt (R-Seekonk), is running in the September 19 Republican primary to succeed former State Senator James E. Timilty (D-Walpole). Jacob is a member of the Wampanoag Aquinnah Tribe with Portuguese and Cape Verdean heritage. Jacob graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance at UMass Dartmouth in 2009 and holds a Juris Doctorate from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 2016.
