Seekonk to Mark September 11 Anniversary


Town officials will gather on Wednesday, September 11 to commemorate the 18th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Tributes will be paid to public safety employees and veterans and to Seekonk residents who helped clean up at the World Trade Center site.

The ceremony will be held at 6 pm at the Public Safety complex on Taunton Avenue. The Seekonk Police and Fire Honor Guards will present the colors and elementary school students will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. The Seekonk High School Brass Ensemble will play under the direction of High School Music Director John Smialek. In addition to a bagpiper, there will be guest speakers.

Attendees are advised to bring chairs.
