Seekonk Guidance Counselors & Psychologists Learn About Child Abuse

Posted

On Tuesday, November 6, 2012, Michelle Loranger, Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) of Bristol County Executive Director, provided child abuse training to the Seekonk School District. Guidance counselors and psychologists came together at the Dr. Kevin M. Hurley Middle School to learn about child sexual abuse, mandated reporting and how to navigate a complex subject. Thanks to Seekonk's Interim Superintendent and the Seekonk Police Department for bringing this training and awareness to the Seekonk Public Schools. Bristol County has had a 45% increase in the number of child sexual abuse cases who have presented to the CAC since the agency's inception five years ago.

The Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) of Bristol County, created in July 2007, is a private, 501c(3) non-profit agency.
