Hebron Food Pantry Family Fun Walk

Saturday May 19th is the 7th Annual Hebron Food Pantry Family Fun Day. Once again, friends and supporters will gather at Willett Field in Attleboro to walk, play games, and win prizes in support of Hebron Food Pantry in the greater Attleboro area fight against hunger.

The Fun Walk was founded in 2012 as a community-wide event for all ages, with the goal of raising money and awareness of the problem of hunger among working people and seniors. What started small, about a dozen sponsors and several dozen walkers, has been held each year since, with more sponsors, more walkers, and more prizes every year. Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and individuals, this year’s walkers will once again have the opportunity cover the course and stop at “game stations” to earn chances at winning some of the fabulous donated prizes. Prizes in the past have included tickets to sporting events, movie tickets, toys, and gift baskets that appeal to every age and taste.

The most important part of the day is YOU, the walker, who participate while having fun. Last year there was a community of over 100 walkers. With your support, the Family Fun Day helps fund Hebron’s Working Person’s and Senior’s Food Pantries through the spring and summer, when donations are lighter and food drives happen less often, but just as many people come seeking help dealing with unemployment, loss of seasonal work, unexpected medical bills, or any of the many other things that can happen. Thanks to YOU, Hebron is always there, with an open door and a welcoming smile, helping to keep nutritious food on the table while those in need cope with financial difficulty, for weeks, months, or even years.
