EP Police Issue Update on Liquor Store Robbery/Stabbing

East Providence Police Detective, Lt. Raymond Blinn, has issued an update to the robbery and stabbing that occurred at a Newport Avenue liquor store Saturday evening.

"This morning, we can confirm that the robbery/stabbing that occurred last night in East Providence is connected to the robbery that occurred earlier in the night in Pawtucket. Both departments are working together to solve these crimes of violence," said Lt. Blinn.

"Additionally, we are releasing a still photograph of both suspects, just prior to the East Providence robbery. Both departments urge anyone with information to contact police," urged Lt. Blinn.

Earlier The East Providence Police issued a release looking for information regarding this robbery which took place at the Town Wine & Liquor store on Newport Avenue in Rumford.

"On Saturday December 2, 2017 at about 9:00 pm, the East Providence Police responded to the Towne Wine & Liquor Store located at 179 Newport Avenue for a report of a robbery. As officers were responding they were notified that there was a person down inside the store.

Upon arrival, officers located a male customer on the floor of the store suffering from an apparent stab wound. The victim was transported to RI Hospital by East Providence Rescue personnel with non-life threatening injuries," said Lt. Blinn earlier.

There were two suspects, both wearing masks, and armed with a knife. The suspects got away with an undetermined amount of cash and are still at large.
