Can’t Make This Stuff Up Nonfiction Book Club

Posted

Seekonk, MA – Truth can be stranger than fiction! Join us each month for an in-depth discussion of a fascinating nonfiction book.

This month we meet on March 24, 2020 at 6 pm to discuss The Perfect Horse: The Daring U.S. Mission to Rescue the Priceless Stallions Kidnapped by the Nazis by Elizabeth Letts.

As World War II comes to an end a shocking discovery is made: Germany has stolen beautiful white stallions in order to breed an equine master race. Starving Russian troops are on the move, however, and the horses are in danger of being slaughtered for food. Can Colonel Hank Reed and his team pull off a rescue mission?

There are copies of the book to check out at the library or you may place a copy on hold from another library. Visit our event calendar to see a short video of the Lippizaner Stallions.
