Audubon Society of Rhode Island is committed to offering safe, accessible, and welcoming facilities and properties to all Rhode Islanders. For visitors who would benefit from exploring the Audubon Nature Center and Aquarium with fewer guests, a quieter environment and lower lighting, Sensory Friendly Hours are now offered twice a month. People with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other sensory processing sensitivities are invited to discover nature in a more relaxed and enjoyable environment.
During Sensory Friendly Hours, there will be a maximum of 12 visitors in the Nature Center and Aquarium exhibits, no videos played on any screens, and trained and caring staff will be available to provide any needed assistance. Adults are asked to accompany children at all times.
Sensory Friendly Hours are offered:
On the 2nd Sunday of each month from 9:30am -12:30 pm.
On the 4th Tuesday of each month from 1:30-4:30 pm.
Visit www.asri.org/SensoryFriendlyHours for dates, details, and to register for a 50-minute time slot. Registration is required to ensure a limited number of visitors.
